Leveraging a common passion to instill life skills among at-risk youth
The Israel Cycling Center (ICC) was founded by a group of cycling enthusiasts, who believe that cycling is a unique tool for teaching life skills and building camaraderie among at-risk youth.
Led by Ran Margaliot, the former professional Israeli cyclist who previously founded “Israel Cycling Academy” (Israel’s first Pro Cycling Team), the organization runs annual cycling programs in youth villages and welfare boarding facilities, as part of their educational curriculum.
Cycling is much more than just a sport. It brings people together and takes them on a journey, it demands the development of a variety of skills and offers a multitude of lessons for life.
about our programs
ICC runs programs in the following frameworks:
Ayanot Youth Village
Kadoorie Youth VIllage
Ben Shemen Youth Village
Alonei Yitzhak Youth Village
Ramat Hadassah Youth Village
Eden Home for Girls
Ahava Childrens and Youth Village
Malkishua Youth Community
These programs teach cycling skills, promote motivation and self-discipline and create a strong sense of team work and social cohesiveness.
We believe that by acting as models for excellence and instilling a passion for cycling in our program participants, we are laying the groundwork for these adolescents to create a personal vision for themselves, expanding their sense of responsibility and capability, and aiding them in developing resilience, perseverance and determination.
Each of ICC programs is designed in accordance with each framework’s unique educational or therapeutic mission.
